Koa
Koa is both beautiful and distinctive when finished. It is moderately hard, with dense fine grain, finishes to a nice polish, and is seldom stained. It's an excellent wood for machining, turning, boring, mortising, bending etc., but as with all hard and/or figured woods, sharp tools should be used to avoid "burning" or "tear out". Koa is used in a variety of products from architectural, to furniture, to specialty items, and has very good tonal qualities when used in musical instruments. This highly prized wood is becoming increasingly difficult to find. Please email or call (1-888-767-9860) for more information.
