(Olea capensis macrocarpus) A rare hardwood/tonewood well known in Europe for centuries. This variation is from Zambia and is more beautiful and denser than it's European cousin (Olea europa). Beautiful colors, high contrast and light figuring combine to yield exquisite beauty. The extreme density of this old growth hardwood, (approx. 1.05) is very similar to Ebony, and yields bright tonal qualities, making Wild Olive a highly sought after tonewood, in addition to use in furniture, architectural, and other applications.
